Visit New Jersey: Mistral

Our first dinner in Princeton, New Jersey, was at Mistral Restaurant.  It turned out to be such a great spot for eats and drinks, that we ended up there two more times during our visit to the state!

Tee Time

The Tee Time cocktail was dangerously good. Made with vodka, elderflower, chamomile, honey, lemon, and sweet vermouth - it went down smoothly and tasted so yummy!
Fries

Beausoleil Oysters

Szechuan Wings

Smoked Fish Dip

Tempura Shishito Peppers

I loved the Wings and the Tempura Shishito Peppers.  I'm usually not a fan of shishito peppers, but this was the tastiest preparation I've ever had them - the light crunch from the tempura coating, and the bounty of umami from the togarashi and the bonito flakes made them addicting.  Even though I bit into many spicy peppers, I just loved them!

Grilled Bavette Steak

Crispy Whole Black Bass

Seared Diver Scallop

Ricotta Gnocchi

The Gnocchi was pillowy-perfect, and the addition of the popcorn added a surprising, yet complementing texture.
Strawberries and Cream

Hazelnut Chocolate Tart

Desserts were deconstructed, yet beautiful.  If I had to choose a fave, it would be the Hazelnut Chocolate Tart, which combined marshmallow and graham crackers for a delightful s'mores-like dessert.

Definitely visit Mistral for a night of great food and cocktails!
