Fooki - Taiwanese Fusion in Pearl Kai Shopping Center

Fooki is a sit down restaurant serving up Taiwanese fusion foods that opened up last year in the Pearl Kai shopping center.  My mom makes a mouth watering traditional beef noodle soup so I am always curious to try someone else's version and trust me, there are not many available in Hawaii.

Fooki's Classic Beef Noodle Soup is made with 12 hour simmered beef broth cooked with assorted vegetables, 20 spices, topped with noodles, beef shanks, veggies, and egg.  I went with the hearty braised for the spice and it did not disappoint.  It was very tasty and I could have totally eaten more.

We also tried the scallion pancake which was very good.  My friend who never had scallion pancakes liked it more than me, but only because I prefer more layers in mine. When you grow up eating a style of food and become accustomed, it is just hard to beat.

Although Fooki doesn't serve alcohol, they offer a mocktail called Minty Mojito made with fresh mint leaves, lime slice, and sparkling water which was really refreshing while eating the hot noodle soup.

Fooki takes reservations, but limits dine in time to about an hour when they are busy. Great place for a casual dinner.
