Let it Snow with Ice Cubed Hawaii's Snowman Kits

Disclosure: Complimentary product was received for review purposes. All opinions are entirely my own.

Yes Virginia, you can make a snowman in Hawaii. Well, there is thanks to Ice Cubed Hawaii and their fundraiser for Make-a-Wish Hawaii.

If you're like me you're looking for COVID-safe ways to celebrate the holiday seasons. Which is already a challenge when you live in Hawaii with our year-round 80-degree weather (I know, wah us).

After decorating our tree (and some Christmas cookies) what else could we do? Then Ice Cubed Hawaii called and asked if we'd like a snowman kit. YES, PLEASE.

Each kit comes with 5-6 pounds of food-grade “snow"and everything you need to decorate your baby snowman including a baby carrot, dried blueberries, straw hat, and palaka scarf. Afterwards you can make celebrate your accomplishment with an order of shave ice in your plastic Make-A-Wish cup and syrups by Harders Hawaii.

Tips:

- WEAR MITTENS. I don't know why I thought I could just shape my snow with my bare hands. It does not work. My baby was able to shovel snow with his bare hands into his little face, I could not.

- There is a LOT of "snow" ... but don't dump it after! You can use up all your shave ice syrups and enjoy shave ice for a few days after.

- There's more than enough to share. If you have enough spare items to decorate your snowman you could probably make 3-4 snowmen and still have ice leftover for shave ice.

- Ice Cubed Hawaii recommends making your snowman on a cookie sheet which I agree with. It made clean up super easy.

- DO let your "snow" melt a little. I tried to do mine straight out of the freezer and it was a little too cold so I had to throw some water on it in order to ball it up.

For a limited time you can purchase a Make A Snowman kit and $10 from the purchase from each kit will go to Make-a-Wish Hawaii. Their fundraising efforts have been impacted by COVID and there are currently 138 Hawaii keiki whose wishes have been put on hold due to the pandemic. You can also gift a Snowman kit to a Make-A-Wish Hawaii keiki this holiday season.

They're currently taking pre-orders right now pick up will be Saturday, 12/12 and Sunday, 12/13 at Pearlridge Center Wai Makai (formerly Downtown). Snow can melt quickly in Hawaii's warm weather so they recommend you do your shopping and dining at Pearlridge first before you pick up your kit, and bring a cooler if you have a long drive home.
