A New Story

It's been a crazy week of election news and results.  What disappointed me most of all was how disrespectful people have become.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and it's totally fine to disagree with others.  But once the name calling, threats, or even physical violence starts - it's such a poor reflection of what has been happening in our society lately.  I even saw one friend on Facebook call those who voted opposite of him a very demeaning word.

I hope the new President-Elect can help the country heal and bring more unity.  I know he and the Vice President will have to overcome a lot.  But like Brene Brown had said:

When we deny our history and pain, our history and pain own us. When we have the courage to own our stories of pain, fear, and oppression, we can write a new story. Today we start a new story of unity, inclusivity, democracy, science, and empathy.
This has been a crazy year so far. But I have faith in our future, the new story...
