We Have an 18 Month-er

Raise your hand if, like me, you can’t believe this baby has been around for a whole 18 months.

He runs and gallops (I call them his giddy ups) more than walks.

He knows more words than I can keep track of – his favorites currently being moon, papa, car and please.

His favorite foods change on an hourly basis but currently include: string cheese, bananas, apples, avocados, ikura, salmon, shrimp and key lime pie.

Still loves the water.

Loves dirt. Leaves. Sticks. And picking my tomatoes before they’re ripe.
Still loves the dog (even though she is going to be bigger than him soon and loves to rip the paci out of his mouth).

Loves books and snuggling in your lap for story time. Long ones like Pout Pout Fish and Fergus the Fire Engine and lift-the-flaps are always on rotation.

Sleeps from 7:30 till about 7-8am (fingers crossed!).

Knows the hand motions to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (good job, Grandma).

Can watch Cocomelon for HOURS.

We are still working on teaching him how to say, “Grandma, can I please sleep over at your house?”
And potty training. Thinking of whose house we can send him to, to learn that one.

Also I guess (#damnyouCOVID) it looks like that 18-month rager we were hoping for won’t happen. Thinking maybe an epic 3 year birthday party? That’s a thing right?
