More Shutdowns

Yesterday the government reinstated the interisland quarantine with exceptions, as well as shut down beaches, parks, hikes, and more.

It's so sad that people became complacent or intentionally flouted the emergency proclamations to bring us to this point.

Most people I know personally have been cautious and careful.  But to see hundreds gathering at beaches and parks - that's just selfish in my opinion.

Yes - I've gone out to a couple of media dinners for work, and have even flown to a neighbor island.  We all have our comfort levels (I will write more later about my traveling and why I feel safer on an airplane than at other places).

But I, along with the people I've been with or around, have been thoughtful and careful.  If I ever felt as if someone was being reckless, I would remove myself from the situation or say something.

Businesses, families, schools, students - everyone is affected.  No one is safe.

Hawai`i can do better.  O`ahu can do better.
