As someone who regularly used to dine out for both business and pleasure, I am very concerned and interested about what will happen once dining is allowed in a couple weeks (on Oahu). I have been taking out and supporting restaurants when I can, but I feel that people, including myself, will still be a bit wary to dine out.
And I know the limited capacity will only continue to hurt an establishment's bottom line. I know many entities, including the ones I work for, have had to reinvent themselves and evolve their business models - from dining in, to selling take-out, cocktail mixes, produce, culinary kits, and even toilet paper. These restaurants are doing whatever it takes to survive and take care of their employees.
The changes some businesses have made have seen great feedback. One friend said she loves the convenience of take-out, particularly from restaurants who never used to offer it. And bake-at-home treats have been gaining popularity (some say they want DIY Napples to be permanent!). These businesses have been forced to think outside the box, and many are welcoming the creativity.
Is dining out allowed where you live? Are you eager to dine out once it's allowed?
