Visit Minneapolis: FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar

Located in the Raddison Blu Hotel at the Mall of America is FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar.

The restaurants focuses on local ingredients, with an emphasis on items that incorporate the honey produced by the rooftop bees (Blu's Bees).

Popover

Chicken & Minnesota Wild Rice Soup
Minnesota is known for Popovers, so I had to give them a try. They were especially yummy with the Blu's Bees' honey butter.

Minnesota is also known for wild rice, and the Chicken & Minnesota Wild Rice Soup was one of the best soups I've ever had.  Full of chicken, wild rice, leeks, and mushroom - it was so satisfying.
Minnesota Walleye Burger
And yet another thing that Minnesota is known for, Walleye, is a must!

This restaurant is very kid-friendly.  Not only do they offer kids meals, but while waiting for their food, kids can request Lego bricks to play with!

Worms and Cheese

Simple Cheese Pizza

Root Beer Float
The Root Beer Float was a special dessert of the day.  There was a locally-brewed Killebrew Root Beer Cake in the glass, along with Sebastian Joe's Vanilla Ice Cream.  Such a classic dessert!
