Aloha Maui: Stillwell's Bakery & Cafe

The last time I went to Stillwell's Bakery & Cafe, we had an unpleasant experience service-wise, and had no plans on ever returning.

However, I returned recently because I tagged along on an #AlohaMaui adventure, in which I left just about the entire itinerary in @melissa808's hands.

@merelow said the breakfast sandwiches are a must, so I had to try.

I agree!

You can opt for your choice of bread, as well as different fillings.  Of course I had to get mine with bacon.  I split it with @yumiozaki and it was more than enough!

I did enjoy the food at Stillwell's once again (I highly recommend the breakfast sandwiches!).  Service-wise, a couple of the employees were very warm, friendly, and customer-service oriented.

There was one individual, however, that provided lackluster service not only to our group, but also to other customers that came in.

He jokingly acknowledged that he doesn't do front-of-house, and it was obvious (many online reviewers concur with my opinion).

Despite the great food, I once again had no desire to return because of the service.

But the next day, we did (although only one person went in and the rest of us waited in the car), because a world-renowned chef recommended the Chow Fun, so we picked some up to-go.

It's too bad the service is subpar, otherwise Stillwell's would be a regular stop for each visit to Maui.
