Visit Auckland: Scarecrow

Our first meal in Auckland was at Scarecrow for breakfast

Scarecrow offers a menu of dishes crafted from local and organic ingredients.
Grilled Courguette Toastie
Shakshuka

Matakana Free Range Scrambled Eggs

Duck Fat Potatoes

Brioche Pain Perdu

Free Range Omelette with Pastrami
Toasties are very popular in Auckland, and I couldn't wait to try the Grilled Courgette Toastie, which also included a yummy herb spread, fontina, and spinach.  For something rather simple, it was truly filling and delicious.

Omelettes come with cheese and sourdough, and you can order additional toppings or sides, such as greens, tomatoes, potatoes, and salmon.

The Brioche Pain Perdu was stuffed with mascarpone, and accompanied by caramelized bananas and strawberry chia.

In addition to a hearty meal, you can also get locally-produced goods at Scarecrow. I did my first round of omiyage shopping at Scarecrow, buying candy, cookies, and granola!
