Tanaka of Tokyo

Late last year, I won a gift certificate to Tanaka of Tokyo from a contest sponsored by Central Pacific Bank (thank you @cpb_hawaii!), and decided to invite some of the in-laws to join us for dinner.

Since I had informed the GM ahead of time that we were coming in (per instructions on the gift certificate), they were prepared to give us the VIP experience.  It started off with re-usable tote bag for me and Tanaka of Tokyo pens for all of my guests!

Soon after we put in our orders, the food started coming.

A bowl of goldfish crackers for the little ones ...

salad and miso soup for the rest of us (it comes with each entree ordered).

Then Chef Pono arrived and put on an awesome show for us.

First, the grilled veggies...

then the shrimp appetizer.....

the flambe show is always a crowd-pleaser. We could really feel the heat!

Next up: garlic fried rice .. it's a few extra dollars but totally worth it.

Main entrees .... seafood, steak ....

Here's a half portion of the chicken teriyaki from the keiki menu ...

The hubby and I shared the rib eye and shrimp - so good!

He ate two bowls of rice but still managed to save room for dessert - vanilla ice cream.

The restaurant provided us with photos taken by their professional photographer, compliments of the house.

Thank you Tanaka of Tokyo for a memorable evening! We can't wait to come back again!
