Dinner at Vein at Kaka`ako

After having a great lunch at Vein at Kaka`ako, I was eager to try out the dinner menu!

Bone Marrow with Uni Butter

Osso Bucco

Risotto "Funghi"

Sausage Penne

I went with a friend who is a well-respected food writer not only in Hawaii, but internationally.

We started off with one of the evening's specials - Bone Marrow with Uni Butter.  It was good, and really rich, as you would expect.

I ordered the Risotto, and it just didn't taste right.  My friend concurred, saying it was much too rancid.  The staff was very accommodating and asked if I wanted to order something else, so I ended up getting another special - the Sausage Penne, which was a safe, yet better option.

Vein is about to change up their dinner menu, according to our server, so it'll be interesting to see what kinds of dishes they'll be offering!
