Visit DC: Farmers Fishers Bakers

Farmers Fishers Bakers was recommended by a friend of mine, and it turned out to be my favorite restaurant during our summer vacation.

I had the Mad Pig Jambalaya - talk about a pork-lover's dream!  A bed of seasoned, slow-cooked rice was topped with pork belly, sausage, pulled pork, bacon, and veggies.  I wanted to eat the entire dish!  It was just bursting with flavor.

One of my sons ordered the Pork Belly Tacos on Masa Puffy Corn (can also opt for griddled flour tortilla or sweet corn cake), and our server offered to have all of the condiments and toppings served on the side in case he didn't like certain ingredients.

The Grilled Cheese Bacon Burger is a burger sandwiched between to grilled cheese sandwiches!  Talk about an indulgence.

Although I couldn't finish my entree, and we already had plans to go to two (yes, two) nearby cupcake shops for dessert, I couldn't resist ordering the Butternut Cake.
Butternut Cake
And I'm so glad I did - it was one of the best cakes I've had - ever!  It was so moist, the frosting was amazing, and eaten together with the Peanut Butter Brickle Ice Cream - it was just heavenly!

Service was great, and Farmers Fishers Bakers is definitely one of my favorite restaurants of all time.
