Kids' Art Classes with Adventures in Art

One of the many awesome things about meeting other moms is the knowledge shared.  I was talking to a mom at the Hawaii Mom Blog luncheon we had in January about my daughter who loves art.  Well, her son also loves art and has been taking classes from Alison Joy Bishop of Adventures in Art.  When I got home, I visited the website and was pleased to find out they are located in the Waipio EPIC Foundation art room right next to Island Tumblers, where my daughter takes a class.

Last month I enrolled her in "Monotype Block Printing" where children experiment with colorful layering to create original prints.  My daughter had her first class this past week and she loved it.  During the car ride home, she told me about the process that she learned and how she started with the lighter colors so they would show up better.  I enjoyed listening to her describe her experience.

The Monotype Block Printing art class is a 6 week session and each class is 80 minutes long.  I like that the class is limited to 8 students so each student can get the attention they need from Miss Alison.  The classes are open to students ages 6 and up and all materials are provided.  I look forward to hearing about the next class from my daughter and seeing her art work progress.
