Kamana Kitchen Opens on Oahu

Initially, for our Hilo Day Trip, I had Kamana Kitchen on our itinerary for lunch.  A friend who lives on Hilo recommended it, and I love Indian food.

Although Nadia was game to try, I could tell she preferred that we go somewhere else, so we went to Restaurant Kenichi (which was a really good alternative).

So imagine my excitement when I found out Kamana Kitchen opened up a location on Oahu!

Garlic Naan

Chicken Pakora

Vegetable Samosa

Rice

Chicken Tikka Masala

Lamb Vindalu

The Chicken Pakora was a mixture of cottage cheese and chicken, and then fried.  I thought it was pretty good, but I really enjoyed the Vegetable Samosas, something  I frequently order at Indian restaurants.  The crispy pastry was filled with a tasty mixture of peas, potatoes, and different herbs and spices.

The Garlic Naan was buttery and garlicky and simply delicious.

Both the Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Vindalu were really good and quite spicy.  Each dish was full of flavor, but my fave was the Chicken Tikka Masala.  The tender pieces of chicken and the housemade sauce, eaten with the rice and naan, was simply delish.

Service was very friendly!

If you love Indian food, definitely check out Kamana Kitchen!
