Visit Big Island: Poke 'n' Sides

Hot pork lau lau, two sides, and poke

My friends and I arrived on Hilo hungry.  As I picked up the rental car, they were actively searching on Yelp for yummy places for lunch.  We decided on a place called Poke 'n' Sides located at the Hilo farmers Market Kitchen.  A bonus was that it was within walking distance to Two Ladies Kitchen.

On the menu are poke bowls, sides, and sushi bombs.  They also offered a hot bowl, pork lau lau, that we could get with two sides and poke.  The pork lau lau was delicious and I loved the chunks of salmon in it.  For my sides, I chose the cucumber kim chee and the sweet potato.  The sweet potato was excellent.  I could have eaten another order for dessert.  The spicy ahi I got was delicious and fresh.  The portion was just enough for me, but others may need more.  The quality was very good.  I wouldn't hesitate to return.
