Cafe DeLight

Last week I met a friend for lunch at Cafe DeLight.  It is a small hole-in-the-wall, family-owned and operated cafe located on the first floor of Kaimuki Shopping Center, two doors down from Times Supermarket.

This cafe is very small, and seating is limited - there is a sofa, three chairs and three small tables.

I've been dying to try their lomo saltado - it was amazing. Lomo saltado is a popular traditional Peruvian dish that combines strips of marinated steak, onions, tomatoes, french fries, and spices.  The sauce has a slight kick to it, but I was able to handle it even though I don't like spicy foods.  I loved it so much that I sent this picture to numerous friends and told them how much I enjoyed it!

My friend enjoyed her breakfast croissant sandwich, which was served with a generous amount of deli meat and cheese.

Of course we saved room for dessert.

We shared a cream puff and tiramisu.  In true Japanese fashion, these desserts were very moist, light, and not overly sweet.

We both vowed to return again, after having such DELIGHTFUL experience.
