Max Brenner Chocolate Bar & Restaurant

Max Brenner, a chocolate confectioner headquartered in New York, has a Chocolate Bar & Restaurant in New York, where we dined for lunch one very hot day.

California Burger

Chicken Cheesesteak Waffle
Cocoa Spiced Waffle Fries
Oven-Roasted Tomato and Pepperoni Flatbread Pizza
Max's Palace Famous Chocolate Mess Party

I ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak Waffle.  The sandwich was just okay. I expected the waffle to be crispy and flavorful, not soggy and bland, but the chicken, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and cheese sauce was tasty. I ended up eating the filling without waffle. It came with Cocoa Spiced Waffle Fries, but I really couldn't taste the cocoa.  The fries were still yummy, however.

The California Burger was topped with Max’s glaze, avocado, tomato, gruyère cheese and balsamic tossed arugula.

My kids shared the Oven-Roasted Tomato Flatbread Pizza. Toppings range from $1 to $2 each.  It was definitely enough for my kids to share!

They also shared the Maxʼs Palace Famous Chocolate Mess Party - warm chocolate cake topped with whipped cream, ice cream, chocolate rocks, toffee sauce, and strawberries.

The Mess was devoured by our three kids in no time.

Service was excellent, and although I didn't care for my sandwich, overall we had a great dining experience.

It's too bad we dined during a heat wave - I couldn't but any chocolates since they would've melted by the time we got to the hotel!
