27th Annual Dessert Fantasy & Silent Auction - A Benefit for United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii

This year marked the first annual high school dessert cook-off challenge!  From left to right:  Deconstructed Chocolate Banana Lumpia by Radford HS; S'mores Cup and Chi Chi Dango by Kaiser HS; Passion Guava Dream Puff by Kalani HS; Pumpkin Bars by Roosevelt HS; Lilikoi Tart by Aiea HS; and  Raspberry Coulis by Nanakuli High and Intermediate School

I look forward to the Dessert Fantasy every year and this year was no different.  For two blissful hours, sweet tooth guests can sample delicious desserts in the grand ballroom of the Pacific Beach Hotel.  The Dessert Fantasy and Silent Auction is in it's 27th year and is a benefit for the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii.  This year's event was sold out!

And it's no wonder it did with 9 tables overflowing with parfaits, cakes, ice cream and more!  My two kids and I tasted just about everything and our very favorite were the piping hot and fresh malassadas by Agnes' Portuguese Bake Shop.  We may have stopped by more than once (or twice!).  My daughter's other favorite were the s'mores cup and my son really enjoyed a customized orange soda ice cream float.

What I love about the Dessert Fantasy is that it brings together a great mix of island favorites, like The Alley Restaurant's Pumpkin Crunch and Lemon Crunch Cake, but also welcomes an array of newcomers like The Baker and the Butcher's Chocolate and Ginger Sandwich Cookie and The Sugar Hut's Macarons.  If you love desserts and enjoy live music, raffles and more, then make sure to clear your calendar's for next year's event!

From Left to Right:  Pastry Chef Garden by Hilton Hawaiian Village; Pineapple Lilikoi Trifly by Pacific Beach Hotel; Coconut Caramel Corn and Kettle Corn by Popcorn Express; Special K Brownie and Pumpkin Mochi by Kakaako Kitchen; Pumpkin Crunch by The Alley Restaurant; Macadamia Nut Chocolate Truffle by Haleiwa Joe's at Haiku; Chocolate and Ginger Sandwich Cookie by The Baker and the Butcher; Berried Treasure by Ching Cakes and Confections; and Pineapple Mac Nut Cheesecake by Ted's Bakery.

From Left to Right:  Lilikoi Bars by The Cookie Corner; Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzel by First Hawaiian Chocolates; my two kids munching away; Coconut and Mango Haupia by Haili's Hawaiian Foods; Entertainment by After 5; Lemon Mascarpone Cheesecake by Top of Waikiki; Salt Caramel and Chocolate Cream Puff by Cake Works; and the most delicious Malassadas by Agnes' Portuguese Bake Shop.

Thank you to UCPA of Hawaii for the complimentary tickets!

United Cerebral Palsy Association (UCPA) of Hawaii is a nonprofit, volunteer health organization. Its focus is to positively affect the quality of life for children and adults with cerebral palsy or other severe disabilities with similar service needs.
