Visit Seattle: Holy Cannoli

Lemon!

Just what are cannoli?  They are Italian pastry with a thin shell stuffed with a sweet cream or cheese filling.  The ones I had pre-Holy Cannoli were not yummy and as a result I had made up my mind that I didn't like them.

My friend and I were exploring the area near our hotel in Belltown and came across Holy Cannoli, a cute little shop that offers about a dozen different flavored cannolis as well as sandwiches, salads, and espresso.

I wasn't planning on ordering one until I heard the owner explaining to another customer that these were not like the New York cannoli.  They were better.  I was sold and ordered a lemon.  The pastry shell was thin and crispy, not thick and hard like the ones I had at Italian restaurants in Hawaii.  The cream was delicious!  It was the perfect little snack.

Holy Cannoli is open daily from 9am to 6pm and are available for special orders.
