Graham Cracker Toffee Bars

I wanted to make a dessert one day, but I had no eggs, so I searched for a recipe online which incorporated ingredients I had on hand, and found this Graham Cracker Toffee Bars recipe from Tastes Better from Scratch.

The bars were so easy to make, and they were so delicious!  The toffee combined with the chocolate was just divine!

Graham Cracker Toffee Bars (slightly adapted from Tastes Better from Scratch)

Ingredients:
  • 1 sleeve graham crackers
  • 2 c chocolate chips
  • 1 c butter
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1 c walnuts, chopped
Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Line a baking pan with parchment paper, and place graham crackers evenly on pan (breaking up crackers if necessary to fit on the pan).
  • In a medium saucepan, melt butter, then add brown sugar and walnuts and bring to a boil.
  • Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly to ensure walnuts are evenly coated.
  • Pour mixture over graham crackers and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 5-7 minutes.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over bars and let stand 5 minutes.
  • Use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate chips evenly all over the bars.
  • Cool completely, and refrigerate for at least an hour before cutting into bars.
