Nā Hōkū Hanohano Nominees Perform Nightly at Popular Waikīkī Lobby Bar

Music comes alive at the Hilton Waikīkī Beach on Kūhiō with a nightly lineup of local entertainers, most of who have graced the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards stage as a nominee. In the spirit of Mele Mei, an annual celebration of Hawaiʻi’s music, hula and culture, the Hilton Waikīkī Beach welcomes the public to enjoy music from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at its lobby bar from this stellar cast of musical artists:

·      Tavana (Sunday)
·      Johnny Helm (Monday)
·      Jason Laeha (Tuesday)
·      Izik (Wednesday)
·      Sunway (Thursday and Friday)
·      Tahiti Rey (Saturday)

The lobby bar also features a happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with drink and food specials from the hotel’s premier restaurant MAC 24/7. Valet parking is only $3 when dining at the Lobby Bar or MAC 24/7.

Mele Mei hits a high note this year, sharing the culturally rich heritage of Hawaiian music with even more residents and visitors throughout Hawai‘i. Of note this year, is the fact that the annual event has been expanded to include events in June for the very first time. Mele Mei, which translates to “May Hawaiian Music Month,” in Hawaiian, this year will showcase the largest calendar to date of musical performances held at various venues throughout Honolulu, the neighbor islands, and Japan.

Mele Mei 2016 is presented by the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority, Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts and Outrigger Hotels and Resorts.
