Mongolian BBQ at The Officers' Club

The view from the Officers' Club

The Build Your Own dining trend is hot right now, and at Marine Corp Base Hawaii's Officers' Club on the windward side of Hawaii, you can build your own stir fry during their Mongolian BBQ nights, every Wednesday and Friday evenings.

Grab a bowl at the start of the line, and fill it to your heart's content with assorted vegetables and proteins:

Present your bowl to the cashier.  You are charged by the ounce.  Then proceed to the sauce station and add your sauces:

Now it's time to take your masterpiece to the chef who will stir fry your meal before your very eyes.

Here's my meal after cooking:

White rice, fried rice, miso soup, and dessert are all complimentary and UNLIMITED!

If you're not in the mood for Mongolian BBQ, you can always order off their regular dinner menu, which includes a prime rib appetizer which is a crowd-pleaser for all carnivores.

P.S. the Kauai Bar next door to the Officers' Club dining room offers complimentary pupus every first Friday of the month from 1600-1800.

The Officers' Club is open to military ranks E6 and above, civilians, retirees, and their guests.  The Kauai Bar is open to officers, civilians, and their guests.
