Banana Chia Chocolate Chip Walnut Bread

Earlier I posted a recipe for Banana Chia Muffins, which was based off of this recipe for Banana Chia Seed Bread on Huffpost Taste.

I decided to make the actual recipe for banana bread, and added walnuts and chocolate chips.  It turned out fantastic!

Banana Chia Chocolate Chip Walnut Bread (slightly adapted from this recipe on Huffpost Taste)

Ingredients:
  • 3 T melted butter
  • 3 large, ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ c sugar
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1 t baking powder
  • ½ t salt
  • 2 T chia seeds
  • 1 c chopped walnuts
  • 1 c chocolate chips
Directions:
  • Pre-heat the oven to 350° F.
  • Mix together the melted butter, mashed bananas, sugar, and egg in a medium bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and chia seeds.
  • Mix the flour mixture into the banana mixture.
  • Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into a prepared loaf pan and bake for 45 minutes.
