Island Style BBQ

Kalihi has some of the best local grinds on the island. This area of the island is filled with many obscure hole-in-the-wall gems that serve delicious, old fashioned plate lunches at reasonable prices.  At places like Island Style BBQ, the biggest challenge to eating here is finding parking. It's metered street parking only, and it's hard to find on most weekdays.  But if you're lucky, you'll find an open stall right in front of the restaurant like how we did on this particular day!

The seating is extremely limited here: there is an L-shaped counter for dine-in customers that can seat about 4 people, so you should have a back up plan if you're thinking about dining in, and I wouldn't even consider dining in if you have more than one other person in your party.

Plate lunches come in two sizes - regular and mini. The regular comes with 2 scoops of white or hapa rice, and your choice of tossed or mac salad.  The mini comes with one scoop rice and choice of salad.

Good for breakfast, lunch, or early dinner!

Soft Serve Ice Cream is available and is a hit with the kids from nearby schools.  Lactose free!
