Shabu Shabu Lunch at Asuka Nabe

I recently met a gal pal for lunch at Asuka Nabe in Kaimuki. They have a really good deal on their lunch menu - $11.95 for a standard Shabu Shabu Set.  With the Shabu Shabu Set, you get to choose your broth (kombu, spicy, wafu, or sukiyaki) and your meat (pork, kalbi short rib, kalbi short rib & pork, pork & chicken, or kalbi short rib & chicken).  All Shabu Shabu sets come with assorted vegetables, soft tofu, one homemade gyoza, udon, and a bowl of rice (white or gokoku-mai). Portions are very generous and you will definitely leave the restaurant feeling full and satisfied.   It's a great place to meet for lunch if you don't mind cooking your meal.
