DIY Pancake Activity

After seeing how much fun our kids had making their own pancakes tableside at Slappy Cakes restaurant, we decided to recreate the fun at home.  We had been gifted a portable griddle that has become increasingly useful over the years.  With the griddle, a couple of spatulas, and two squeeze bottles filled with pancake batter, we were ready to rock and roll!

It was so much fun that the kids wanted to make pancakes the next night too.  We learned from the first time that chocolate chips and sprinkles were too messy so we nixed them.  We also moved the pancake making outdoors and added a chocolate batter so the kids could get more creative.  We constantly reminded the kids to be aware of the hot griddle and fortunately we all came away burn-free.  Fun activity for the entire family!
