Our First Inter-Island Trip on Hawaiian Airlines

A few months ago our family flew on Hawaiian Airlines (HA) for the first time inter-island.  Although I've been to the neighbor islands many times before, I would only fly on the airline I used to work for (since it was free) to get to the neighbor islands, so I was excited to fly HA for the first time to Kona.

Service was excellent both at the airport and onboard, and my kids loved getting to drink POG on the plane!

And the flight went by so quickly.  We had great views of the neighboring islands as we soared through the sky, and in just over 40 minutes we were at our destination.

Since Kona International Airport is an outdoor airport, a mobile ramp is used to plane and de-plane passengers from the Boeing 717.

De-planing
The return flight was the same - great service at the airport and onboard.

We departed and arrived on-time for both flights, and we were more than pleased with how smoothly our trip went.
