Chocolate Oatmeal Caramel Bars Recipe

I never used to care for any desserts with caramel, but ever since last year, I became very fond of it.  For a recent get-together I decided to try baking with caramel for the first time, and made these Chocolate Oatmeal Caramel Bars based on this recipe from Pillsbusry.

They turned out amazing!  They were chocolate-y, caramel-y, and delicious!

Chocolate Oatmeal Caramel Bars (recipe credit Pillsbury)

Ingredients:
  • 1 roll refrigerated chocolate chip dough or 1/2 of your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe
  • 1 c quick-cooking oats
  • 2/3 c caramel ice cream topping
  • 5 T flour
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 3/4 c chopped walnuts
  • 1 c chocolate chips
Directions:
  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • In large bowl, mix cookie dough and oats together.
  • In prepared 9x9 pan, press half of dough on bottom to form crust.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix together caramel topping, flour, and vanilla.
  • Once crust is done baking, sprinkle walnuts and chocolate chips over crust.
  • Drizzle caramel mixture.
