The Latest in Skincare: Bio Peel Review

I admit once I turned 35, my concern with skincare went into overdrive and I pretty much upgraded all my products to an anti-aging version.  I upped my skincare regiment to using my Clarisonic daily and treating my skin to monthly facials.  I used toner, serums, and sunscreen.  I spent a small fortune on La Mer products.

Yet, I was in denial and stayed away from any treatment that contained the word chemical or peel which triggered images of a tomato-red afterglow.  No, thank you.  Besides, didn't you have to be - like 40, to need one of those?  Well, here I am, almost 40 and although monthly facials work wonders for some, I felt my skin needed something more medical-like rather than spa-like.

I jumped at the chance to attend a complimentary media session for Bio Peeling U.S.A and try a medical grade skin peel and product line.  2B Bio Beauty is an all-natural, 100% organic product line made in Europe that is gentle enough to use on all skin types.  It promised to diminish wrinkles and fine lines, large pores, hyper pigmentation, acne and scars with NO downtime.  I was sold.

Jennifer Rosenblum, owner of Bio Peeling U.S.A. located in California, is working on getting the secret out about this wonderful medical peel using 2B Bio Beauty's product line that is already popular in Europe.  But it seems the Japanese clients of Kazuko Iwase, 2B Bio Beauty's Hawaii exclusive distributor, are already in the know with mostly all of them flying from Japan for this unique peel.

I met both of these lovely ladies (with amazing skin) at Iwase's Honolulu office.  The office environment is nice and serene.  My treatment began with the cleansing of my skin with the most fabulous smelling products by 2B Bio Beauty.  Next came the 2B Bio Peel which is sealed for added longevity of product freshness and needs to be mixed and heated into a paste before applying.  I was warned of a kind of prickling pain that could be felt during and after the treatment and may last 1-2 days.  I noticed it, but it was not painful and it faded away within a couple of hours for me.  If it doesn't for you, it will fade away within 48 hours.

The next step is soothing the skin, followed by nourishing and moisturizing with a moisturizer and finishing up with a protecting sunscreen.  The entire treatment was about an hour.  There was no redness and I could apply make-up that day and return to work.  My skin immediately felt smoother and radiant.  I opted not to wear makeup for the rest of the afternoon and my co-worker remarked how nice my skin looked.  While most peels only work on the surface, Bio Peeling triggers the exfoliation process from within.  It is a medical strength skin care product that won't discolor skin or cause hyperpigmentation like traditional chemical peels can.

As each day passed, the results were more and more noticeable.  I have noticed an improvement in the texture and tone of my skin.  I love the results and would do it again in a heartbeat.  Although results can be seen in one treatment, it's recommended for the best results to have the treatment once every 2 weeks for two months with follow ups of two treatments per year.  Iwase offers two versions of the bio peel, one using 3 grams and the other 5 grams of the product.  She also offers special pricing when you purchase a series of 3 or 5 treatments.  For the cost comparable to a signature facial at a high end Waikiki hotel spa, I'd definitely prefer to spend my money on the bio peel because I know I will get amazing and lasting results.

I was also generously gifted with 2B Bio Beauty's Bio Defense BB Cream which I adore!  I love it even more than my Smashbox CC cream.  The texture of the product feels lighter and stays put.  I'm so grateful to have been introduced to this line of products.  I know I can't stop getting older, but I can do my best to slow down the wrinkles.  It may be vain of me, but let's be real - there's nothing wrong with looking your best.  Bring on 40!
