Bread Pudding Recipe

It wasn't until a few years ago that I became fond of bread pudding.  I can't remember the first time I actually tried bread pudding, but once I did, I became a fan, and couldn't believe how yummy it was!

I often order bread pudding at restaurants for desserts, and I decided to try and make my own using this recipe from Allrecipes.com.

It was a cinch to make, and it turned out delicious.

And it was even better when topped with some vanilla ice cream!

Bread Pudding (recipe adapted from Allrecipes.com)

Ingredients:
  • 6 slices day-old bread (I used French bread)
  • 2 T butter, melted
  • 1/2 c raisins
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 c milk
  • 3/4 c w sugar
  • 1 t ground cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla extract
Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Break bread into small pieces and place in prepared 8 inch square baking pan.
  • Drizzle melted butter over bread.
  • Sprinkle with raisins.
  • In a medium bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla; beat until well combined.
  • Pour mixture over bread, ensuring all bread is covered in mixture.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
