The Bar Method® continued its expansion growth by the opening of its 83rd studio on January 17, 2015 on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu.
The Bar Method exercise system merges the principles of isometrics, interval training and dance conditioning while emphasizing sculpting more than other bar-based workouts by targeting the muscles that play the largest role in changing the shape of the body. Clients around the country appreciate how the method quickly and safely reshapes, burns fat and elongates muscles. The fitness sensation draws a celebrity clientele including Drew Barrymore, Cobie Smulders and Kristen Bell.
The Bar Method instructors receive extensive training in healthy patterns of movement and are able to assist with modifications to accommodate all types of client needs including variations for pregnant women. Clients receive personalized instruction and hands-on adjustment to ensure safety and create strong, flexible, aligned bodies.
Elaina Olson, the owner of the new Honolulu studio, became instantly passionate about The Bar Method upon taking her first class by DVD while working overseas in American Samoa. After moving to San Francisco she began working at The Bar Method HQ assisting other new studio owners with the opening of over 40 studios. It is with this role and everything that she learned about opening and running a studio that she began thinking about the goal of opening a studio herself in Hawaii.
Elaina stated, “I absolutely love the Bar Method and couldn’t imagine not having it be a part of my life. The Bar Method to me isn’t just a workout but a lifestyle that empowers women to be their best selves. Teaching classes has without a doubt become one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done, and I love interacting with the students and working to create a positive and supportive community. Located at 2758 South King Street, the new studio space is designed with the brand's attention to high standards with a “beach chic” décor with modern accents. The location includes a spacious lobby, a bright spa-like locker room with a shower, plenty of on-site parking and retail area with Bar Method branded merchandise. The studio is currently open Monday through Saturday with classes offered throughout the day at convenient times.
