Yakiniku Hiroshi

There are many Yakinikus on Oahu, but there is one that stands above the rest - Yakiniku Hiroshi.  I would have never known about this place if it weren't for my good friend Brandon. He brought me here a couple of years ago and it was one of the best meals I've had on this island.

I revisited Yakiniku Hiroshi recently, thanks to my hubby, who lost a bet and owed me dinner.

Entrance to the restaurant is on Royal Hawaiian Avenue. I took a picture of the entrance because you'll walk right past it if you're not paying attention.

At Yakiniku Hiroshi, you cook your own meat on built-in grill on your table.

I love restaurants that give you pre-moistened towels.

You can order ala carte, or opt for one of two set menus - Gold and Platinum ($60/$130). If you opt for one of the set menus, you are required to order it in pairs, so you and your dining mate must order the same menu (otherwise you have to order ala carte).  The Platinum Course is double the price of the Gold Course, because they use a higher grade of meat in the Platinum Course.  Believe me, the quality of meat they serve with the Gold Course is pretty awesome, so unless you've got an unlimited budget, just go with the Gold Course. You will not be disappointed.

While you wait for your meat to arrive, help yourself to unlimited servings of assorted veggies, salad, kim chee, and roasted garlic.

Then comes the fun part - cooking your meat. The meat cooks fairly quickly, and you do not want to overcook the meat, so just cook as you consume.  Don't rush - you want to savor every bite!
