Check out Monsarrat Ave Shave Ice!

My kids and I are huge fans of mochi, I mean shave ice...with mochi. I've been wanting to take them here for forever! Finally got the opportunity today to make the drive to Monsarrat Ave.

When it came time to order, my youngest is super easy. He wants blue so blueberry it was.  I knew from the reviews and pictures that the syrups weren't the sugary kind, but made from real fruit so this posed a problem for my oldest, a non-fruit eater.  Thank goodness they have the MK special, kuromitsu syrup (brown sugar), azuki bean, mochi, vanilla ice cream and topped with soy bean powder. My non-fruitovore loved it!

For myself, I got the mix fruit with ice cream, azuki and mochi.  At first, I thought I could probably eat another it was so good, but the medium was just right for me and the kids enjoyed their smalls.  All our flavors were delicious and we are glad we made the trek from Mililani!

Appears they are open on the weekends for now. Follow their IG (monsarrataveshaveice) for hours and be on the lookout for street parking.  Located in the little alleyway right next to Pioneer Saloon on 3046 Monsarrat Ave.
