New Brunch Menu at Monkeypod Kitchen

I love all things brunch so when Gem informed me that one of my favorite restaurants would be introducing a brunch menu, I began to stalk their Instagram page daily for more info. As luck would have it, we stayed at the Disney Aulani resort over Mother's Day weekend which just so happens to be located across the street from Monkeypod Kitchen!

Planning the day with two young children is always full of the unexpected so I was thankful for how easy it was to make a last minute reservation using the Open Table app on my phone...and then (20 minutes later) changing the reservation time.

We were seated immediately, but I did the unthinkable and left the tablet in the hotel room. The restaurant didn't have any crayons for the kids, but they had toys! What a lifesaver!

New brunch menu items include eggs benedict with house baked english muffins and jalapeƱo hollandaise, homemade flap jacks, huevos rancheros made with local farm fresh eggs and from scratch cinnamon rolls. They have also added some new handcrafted cocktails especially for the brunch menu.  So many great options, but we decided on the breakfast sandwich, maui pineapple flapjacks from scratch and the cinnamon bun with cream cheese frosting.  In my book, brunch isn't complete without coffee and their french press did not disappoint.

I thought the breakfast sandwich was tasty but would have preferred it on their burger bun instead of their house-made whole wheat bread. The flap jacks were delicious, but they could have been a little fluffier. The cinnamon bun was simply amazing.

Love the service and love this kid friendly restaurant. If breakfast foods aren't your thing, they serve most lunch items during brunch too.

Brunch is available every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 2pm. Live music starts at 11am and they offer half price champagne on Sundays.
