Scoop Hawaii

With the opening of Scoop in Kalihi, I no longer have to fly to Los Angeles to get my ice cream sandwich fix.  Although Scoop isn't an exact replica of the iconic Diddy Riese in Westwood, it's good enough.

For $3.75, you get your choice of two cookies and your choice of ice cream.  On my first visit, I chose Snickerdoodle cookies and chocolate peanut butter oreo ice cream.  It was delicious, and enough for my hubby and I to share.  For $2 more, you can get macarons instead of cookies.

It's best to go early, as I've heard they often sell out before closing time.  I would recommend checking their Instagram feed before you head down there to make sure they are open.

Tip: if you prefer softer cookies, ask them to heat up your cookie.
