Angelo Pietro

Tonight I met a good friend of mine for dinner at Angelo Pietro on Kapiolani Blvd. They have a lot of free parking in the building (enter on Kona Street). It's been years since my friend has been there, and she had a hard time deciding what to order, because everything on the menu sounded like a winner.

Upon much deliberation and recommendation from our waiter, she opted for the Sicilian, which consisted of eggplant, bacon, green pepper, garlic oil, and chili pepper. Great choice!

I was less adventurous and ordered my usual dish - shrimp and mushroom pasta with tomato sauce. The best part is the fried onions on top.

Amazingly, we saved room for dessert. Here it is:

The apple galette - a warm apple tart topped with vanilla bean ice cream and caramel drizzle.

Thanks to the coupon in the Entertainment Book, our meal (2 entrees, 2 glasses of wine, and dessert) came out to $20 per person (including tax and tip). It was worth every penny.
