Eat Your Heart Out At ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach’s New Buffet Experience

Get your appetite ready! The buffet experience, Makana Lani, is preparing its debut on the second floor of ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, offering more than 50 buffet options to choose from. Guests can look forward to an endless array of mouthwatering appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks during their breakfast, brunch and evening buffet experiences including French toast using local sweet bread and fruits, made-to-order fresh seafood, prime rib, pasta, lechon, and much more to craft the perfect plate.

‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach sits where the city meets sand and includes world-class dining options, a 17,000-square foot seascape pool deck with cabanas and Swell restaurant, captivating 280,000-gallon Oceanarium and a rooftop fitness experience.

“Since we’re opening in the heart of Waikiki, it was important for us to represent Hawaii’s melting pot of cultures through our menu by featuring flavors that span the globe as well as classic island favorites,” said Makana Lani’s Executive Chef Erwin Manzano.

Makana Lani offers breakfast, brunch and evening buffet experiences as well as an afternoon tea available by reservation only.

Breakfast: Makana Lani will offer its breakfast buffet Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Diners can choose from three different breakfast options: a continental buffet featuring local fruits, cereal and baked goods including house-made pop tarts and gluten-free muffins; the full buffet experience that features hot and cold selections including a made-to-order omelet and egg station; or order a la carte from a menu that features Makana Lani owner Elizabeth Hata Watanabe’s signature three-inch French toast with local sweet bread and fruits, heavenly pancakes with a house-made tropical fruit syrup, acai fruit bowl with homemade granola, “Mile High” loco moco with kalua pork and much more.

Brunch: On Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Makana Lani will offer a brunch buffet that includes a bottomless Heavenly Mary beverage that features house-made tomato juice and a blend of spices. The menu features classic breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites in addition to an array of sides. Standout dishes include prime rib, lechon, and made-to-order eggs as well as made-to-order fresh seafood that includes scallops and shrimp in a variety of sauces such as Szechuan, black bean or garlic butter.

Dinner: Makana Lani serves its dinner buffet that features a bottomless Makana Lani beverage (inspired by a Blue Hawaii) Monday through Thursday and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. From Monday through Friday, the restaurant focuses their menu on meats and seafood, regional appetizer boards with Mexican, Japanese and Hawaiian items and charcuterie boards. On Saturday and Sunday, the menu switches up to include a pasta station, prime rib, as well as a fresh catch featuring seafood favorites like wild-caught salmon, ahi, monchong and more.

To wash it all down, Makana Lani serves a variety of signature drinks including an original pale ale, as well as the exclusive craft cocktail, Makana Lani, inspired by the famous Blue Hawaii drink.

In addition to the buffet experience, Makana Lani supports local artists by displaying their art, which is available for purchase. The restaurant will donate a portion from the sales to a nonprofit organization of their choice – with no commission taken by Makana Lani.

Makana Lani offers happy hour daily from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Parking is available at ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach and is complimentary for the first three hours with validation. For more information on Makana Lani, visit makanalanihawaii.com
