Sun Noodle Jiro Style Garlic Shoyu Ramen Review

Disclosure: Complimentary product was received.

Sun Noodle celebrated its 40th anniversary with two new ramen kits - the Gyokai Tonkotsu Tsukemen and the Jiro Style Garlic Shoyu Ramen.

I couldn't wait to try the Jiro Style Garlic Shoyu Ramen.
About Jiro Style Garlic Shoyu Ramen:

Popularized by Ramen Jiro in Tokyo, Jiro-style ramen is known for its large portion of hearty, chewy noodles in a rich, savory, garlic soy sauce and pork soup base. It was a fan-favorite for university students because it offered filling mountains of noodles for an affordable price. Sun Noodle’s Jiro kit contains a single serving of chewy noodles formulated to hold its texture in the rich, garlic shoyu broth.
I followed the cooking instructions, and added toppings that I had on hand (SPAM, green onions, kamaboko, and egg).

The thick noodles were perfect for the rich pork broth (which smelled so amazing as soon as I opened the pouch!). The noodles didn't get soggy, and held onto the garlic shoyu flavor of the broth nicely.

Because the noodles were a lot thicker than I'm used to, I actually got full really quickly (but I did finish the serving - it was just too good not to!).

You can find these products at Don Quijote, Marukai and Nijiya Market.
