Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i to Open April 8

Aloha West Oahu!

Foodland Super Market Ltd. is excited to announce the opening of its brand-new Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i store, set to open Wednesday, April 8. The 32,000-square-foot store will be located at The Grove at Ka Makana Ali‘i, a collection of lifestyle retailers, restaurants and services promoting healthy living, adjacent to West Oahu's premier shopping, dining and entertainment center.

So how awesome will West Oahu’s very-first Foodland Farms be?

Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i is being specially designed and stocked – from grocery shelves to food stations and everything in between – to offer much of the must-haves you already love about Foodland, including fresh fried chicken, Hawaii’s Best Poke and more. The big bonus? It’ll also be home to exciting new food experiences, discoveries, freshly prepared offerings and new items in every department. The store’s design and layout reflect a reimagined, full-service grocery store and chef-driven dining experience … PLUS Mahi ‘ai Table, Foodland’s first-ever in-store restaurant.

Customers will immediately notice Foodland’s largest and most diverse selection of natural and organic products and brands, stocked alongside an impressive range of Hawaii-grown, Hawaii-raised and Hawaii-made products and ingredients. The store will welcome the community to come together around the coolness of awesome food experiences, and enjoy a wide selection of healthy options, including greens and grain bowls, freshly made juices and an ample selection of meat alternative and gluten-free products. From bulk foods, fresh produce, dairy products, pastas and grains, to full-service meat and seafood counters, Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i’s diverse product mix is aimed toward making it easier for customers to choose local, cook fresher, eat better and live healthier.

“We are so excited to be a part of Ka Makana Ali‘i and worked hard to create a store to fit the spirit and lifestyle of this vibrant, growing community,” said Jenai S. Wall, Foodland Chairman and CEO. “We hope it is a place where our customers will not only enjoy shopping, but gather to discover and share great food with family and friends.”

Now nearing completion at The Grove at Ka Makana Ali‘i, Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i will celebrate and showcase superb local products and new offerings for the young, growing and dynamic communities of West Oahu, all from a convenient central location.

Exclusive to Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i will be Mahi ‘ai Table, an in-store, full-service restaurant and bar spotlighting a menu of mouthwatering local farm-to-table dishes featuring surprising flavor combinations and a lineup of inventive signature craft cocktails. In Hawaiian, mahi ‘ai means “farmer” or “farming”. And in celebration of Hawaii’s farming community Mahi ‘ai Table will be a place for family and friends to come together over shared plates and experience the extraordinary flavors that can only come from using the freshest ingredients procured from local farms. Mahi ‘ai Table will be open for lunch and dinner, and also offer fast-casual breakfast.

Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i will, of course, also include all of the other awesome stuff customers have grown to expect, crave and love about Foodland Farms stores, including hot-and-cold item take-home-and-eat food bars, an expansive Poke Island, Calabash Meal Kits, and full-service seafood and butcher counters. Additionally, the store will have its very-own HI Steaks counter and a 900-square-foot indoor-outdoor lanai for customers to sit back, relax and enjoy their food treasures from one (or more) of the store’s food stations.

More details about Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i and Mahi ‘ai Table will be announced soon.

Meantime, if you’re interested in joining the store’s opening team, Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i is seeking qualified candidates for various positions throughout the store and restaurant. For more information and a list of current job openings, visit Foodland.com/kma-jobs.
