Special Activities at Halekulani – November 2019

Halekulani Bakery & Restaurant
Halekulani Bakery & Restaurant at Halepuna Waikiki is now open!  The bakery features a range of fresh baked artisan breads, pastries, cakes, and coffees.  A chocolate-viewing kitchen will allow guests to observe the delicacies being made daily, including Halekulani’s signature dragees, the classic chocolate macadamia nut pearls.  The all-day dining restaurant will focus on locally sourced ingredients in a relaxed setting.  In addition to indoor seating, outdoor lanai seating is available for those who prefer to “grab and go.” 

Visit the bakery at 6:30 am, 12:00 noon, and 3:00 pm, for “Baked Fresh” or “Yakitate” (right out of the oven) items.  Halekulani Bakery & Restaurant is located across the street from Halekulani on Kalia Road.

We invite the men to indulge in the Classic Club Treatment which begins with a hot steam and shower and continues with a back exfoliation and full body massage.  For the month of November, a bonus complimentary ten minute scalp massage will be included.  Price:  $280 (90 minutes)

WINEVIEW AT CATTLEYA
Join us for an informal and informative tasting with conversation by a visiting Wine Maker, resident Wine Professional, and / or notable Industry Expert.  (Guests may arrive and join the conversation at any time between 4:30 and 7:30 pm).  $59 per person accompanied with light bites provided by Orchids Chef de Cuisine.  Reservations are recommended.

Thursday, November 7: “Under the Volcano”
Join Ian Bishop of Flavors of Italy and Donato Loperfido – celebrated Chef and wine importer – for a conversation and tasting of artisanal Sicilian wines made from unique grape varietals cultivated on the slopes of Mount Etna.

Thursday, November 21:  Icons of Piemonte
Join Brian Bittner – wine specialist for The Estates Group - for a conversation and tasting of handcrafted wines from some of Piemonte’s most celebrated producers. From iconic winery Damilano to legendary winemaker Bruno Giacosa, these wines represent expressions of the best crus in the region.

HAWAII INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Thursday, November 7 – Sunday, November 17
Halekulani once again is proud to be the presenting partner for the Hawaii International Film Festival. It is dedicated to the advancement of understanding and cultural exchange among the peoples of Asia, the Pacific and North America through the medium of film. HIFF showcases independent feature films and is held at the Signature Dole Cannery Theatres each spring and fall. Expect the very best and latest in independent and global cinema.

GIVING THANKS AT HALEKULANI
Celebrate Thanksgiving at Orchids as we will have a special Brunch Buffet and Dinner Buffet.  Brunch is from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm featuring the music of Noly Pa’a.  Dinner buffet will be from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  Prices for the buffets are $115 per person and $49 for children ages 5 – 12 years old.  In addition to their regular menu, House Without A Key will feature a special Thanksgiving prix fixe Dinner menu.  Prices are $80 per person and $35 for children ages 5 – 12 years old. HALEKULANI GALLERY - THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII VISITING ARTIST PROGRAM IN GLASS
Now – November 20, 2019
Halekulani is pleased to present a selection of glass work curated by Rick Mills, Professor of Art and Glass Area Chair at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  The Visiting Artist Program in Glass (VAPG) started over 30 years ago and has hosted over 65 artists from around the world. The program allows guest artists to work directly with students to create unique pieces of glass art.  The glasswork featured in this exhibit is from the recent visiting artists.
