“This holiday season we are excited to help island residents deck their halls with a beautiful, meticulously hand-sheared Christmas tree that also supports Habilitat’s important work,” said Jeff Nash, Habilitat executive director. “The holiday season is not a bright and merry time of year for everyone, and purchasing your tree through Habilitat is just one way that you can support those who are struggling with issues such as addiction.”
Christmas trees are available for purchase at the following locations starting November 30 from 12pm – 9pm daily:
- Central Union Church
- Stadium Mall (next to Ice Palace)
- Kapolei (500 Kamokila Blvd, by the old Kmart)
- Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center (fronting Safeway)
- Koko Marina Center (fronting Taco Bell)
All trees are meticulously hand-sheared to guarantee their fullness and contour. They are shipped from select specialty growers in Oregon and are carefully transported to preserve their great scent and freshness. Trees are available at different heights from two feet all the way to 10 feet, providing the perfect decoration for any home. Habilitat also offers wreaths for sale for $30 and door charms for $30.
The four types of trees Habilitat will offer for sale in 2019 include:
Douglas Fir (4-10 feet): A traditional green Christmas tree with a full shape and fragrant scent
Noble Fir (2-9 feet): A dark green tree with stiff branches with lots of open space for hanging decorations
Grand Fir (2-10 feet): A full shape tree with a silvery undertone and soft branches
Nordmann Fir (6-10 feet): A bright green tree with silvery undertones and mild fragrance
Proceeds from Habilitat’s annual Christmas tree sales are reinvested to support the program’s important work. As they go through the program, not only are residents given a newfound sense of self-worth with their job training, but are also able to give back and become a gainfully employed member of the community. Today, Habilitat has one of the highest success rates in the U.S.
