Special Activities at Halekulani – October 2019

HALEKULANI BAKERY & RESTAURANT at HALEPUNA WAIKIKI RETAIL POP-UP EVENTS
October 6th & 13th @ 10:30 am – 1:30 pm in the Halekulani Gatehouse

In anticipation of the opening of Halepuna Waikiki by Halekulani on October 25th, we will be having two retail pop-up events showcasing the new Halekulani Bakery & Restaurant.  Attendees will have the opportunity to preview delectable treats that we will be featuring as well as meet Halekulani’s Executive Pastry Chef Mark Freischmidt and Head Baker, Tatsuhiro Kaneshiro from Imperial Hotel - Tokyo, who specializes in the esteemed art of bread making.

These presentations start at 9:00 am and will be followed by a “bonus round” workshop empowering participants to apply the information into everyday life.  Lectures are $25 per person and include complimentary valet parking.

Join us for an informal and informative tasting with conversation by a visiting Wine Maker, resident Wine Professional, and / or notable Industry Expert.  (Guests may arrive and join the conversation at any time between 4:30 and 7:30 pm).  $59 per person accompanied with light bites provided by Orchids Chef de Cuisine.  Reservations are recommended.
Thursday, October 3:  Mixology Takeover!  Join Local Celebrity Mixologist Chandra Lam Lucariello, Director of Mixology & Spirits Education for Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits Hawaii, as she explores Wine in Cocktails – incorporating our Mediterranean line up wine into compelling and refreshing libations – along with locally distilled artisanal spirit.

Thursday, October 17:  Global Viognier – Troy Groendyke, Fine Wine Consultant, American Wine & Spirit will explore all aspects of Viognier - ancient, elegant and aromatic varietals.  Enjoy these full bodied white wines from Condrieu, France to Oregon.

HALEKULANI GALLERY - THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII VISITING ARTIST PROGRAM IN GLASS
October 7 – November 20, 2019
Halekulani is pleased to present a selection of glass work curated by Rick Mills, Professor of Art and Glass Area Chair at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  The Visiting Artist Program in Glass (VAPG) started over 30 years ago and has hosted over 65 artists from around the world. The program allows guest artists to work directly with students to create unique pieces of glass art.  The glasswork featured in this exhibit is from the recent visiting artists.
