In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fairmont Orchid, a luxury resort along the pristine Kohala Coast, invites the public to engage in property offerings to support this important initiative in the following five ways:
- Remembrance Ceremony - Join us at our Ahu A Kūpuna (alter, pictured above) on October 4 from 8:00-9:00am in remembrance of loved ones we’ve lost to breast cancer. This special ceremony will also pay homage to breast cancer survivors. Feel free to bring a lei or loose flowers to place on the ahu in honor of your loved one(s). Please meet our Director of Hawaiian Culture, Ka’iulani Blankenfeld, in the lobby at 7:45am and she will guide you to the Ahu A Kūpuna.
- Massage – Our team of massage therapists at the Spa Without Walls have successfully completed cancer awareness training through Wellness for Cancer to ensure that all of our guests are able to enjoy spa treatments in our facility, including those who are currently undergoing cancer treatments or are in recovery. In support of this effort, we’re donating a portion of the proceeds this month from our special Relax & Support Pink ocean-side massage to Susan G. Komen in the fight against breast cancer.
- Mani-for-a-Cure & Pedi-for-a-Cure – Pamper yourself with a pink pedicure and/or pink manicure and we’ll donate $5 from every treatment until October 31, 2019 to Susan G. Komen.
- Wristbands – Put your pink pride on display with our Fairmont Orchid branded pink bracelets. They’ll be available for purchase at the Front Desk and Beach Shack until October 31, 2019 with a suggested donation of $5. 100% of proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen.
- #DrinkPink – Raise your glass in the fight against breast cancer by ordering a Strawberry Balsamic Sour in Luana Lounge or Rose d'Or Cremant de Bordeaux Brut Rose at Hale Kai or Brown’s Beach House. $1 for every glass and $5 for every bottle sold until October 31, 2019 will benefit Susan G. Komen.
“We hope our special property offerings this month raise both awareness and significant funds in honor of the courageous women and men battling breast cancer every day,” says General Manager Kelley Cosgrove. “We’ve honored to be a source of encouragement for the community and our guests as we support this important cause.”
