CUPS Dazzle 2019 Celebrates 90 Years on April 5

Central Union Church Preschool & Kindergarten (CUPS) is this year celebrating ninety years of bringing nurturing early childhood education to the community. From its small beginnings in 1928 with just fourteen children, the school has grown to become one of the largest church affiliated pre-schools in Hawaii, with national accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Central Union Church Preschool and Kindergarten Director, Ms. Marie Hook said, “ As we look back over our 90 year history, it’s hard to believe that there was once a dairy farm where today a modern campus stands.” Adding, “It is a real tribute to the dedication of many talented people over the years that our thirty faculty and staff today are providing early childhood education to more than 180 families.” Every year CUPS holds a DAZZLEing, much-anticipated fundraiser event and this year’s theme of From Farm to Preschool promises to better than ever.

CUPS Director, Marie Hook said,” Since its inception in 2005 this informal, mix-and-mingle fundraiser event receives great support from the parents of our young students, past and present, and from many businesses in the community.” Adding, “ I can not begin to express how grateful we are for their support year after year. “

Marie and her team will be hosting Dazzle 2019 at the Sheraton Waikiki Ballroom from 6pm, on Friday April 5 which will include wine-tasting and food sampling of fresh, locally-grown delicacies prepared by some of Hawai’i’s top chefs. Furthermore, a dazzling array of outstanding entertainment, a spirited live auction and a few special surprises, are certain to make this a night to remember. “We are delighted and humbled to have some of Hawaii’s finest restaurants supporting this year’s event,” Marie said.

Participating restaurants include:
BÚHO, CHEF MAVRO, DB GRILL, EAT HONOLULU, GREEN APRON CHEF MARC ANTHONY, HAILI’S HAWAIIAN FOODS, HAWAII KAI SMOKEHOUSE, KONA BREWING COMPANY, KOPÉ COFFEE CO., MW RESTAURANT, THE NOOK, PIG AND THE LADY, PAI HONOLULU, POKE STOP, RUMFIRE, ROY’S WAIKIKI, SANSEI SEAFOOD RESTAURANT & SUSHI BAR, SENIA, SHERATON WAIKIKI, SOUTHERN GLAZER’S OF HAWAII – CHANDRA LUCARIELLO, THIS LIL’ PIGGY, TIKI’S GRILL & BAR, TOWN, UNCLE BO’S, VIAGGIO, VINO, XO RESTAURANT, ZIGU AND 12 AVENUE GRILL.
