Visit Maui: Lineage

During our quick momcation to Maui, we had dinner at Lineage at The Shops at Wailea.

Chef Sheldon Simeon's newest restaurant offers a twist on family-style local dishes that many who grew up in the islands will find very familiar.

The meal starts off with the Cart, which is filled with an array of pupus.

We picked two:

Cone Sushi

Kimchi Dip
The Cone Sushi was filled with salmon and ikura and was quite tasty.

Nadia and I both enjoyed the addicting Kimchi Dip, which was served with made-in-Hilo Maebo One-Ton Chips.
"Housemade SPAM" Musubi

Poi Mochi
The Poi Mochi (which Nadia loved) was served with a shio koji chicken liver pate and furikake mixture that you dip the mochi into.

I really liked the "Housemade SPAM" musubi, however Nadia thought the musubi was "too meaty."
Katsu Curry
Miki Noodles
The Miki Noodles is a popular Filipino dish at Lineage.  I thought it was good and the flavors were balanced.

I love all things cauliflower, and I was very impressed with the Cauliflower Katsu Curry.  It was served atop a bed of cauliflower rice.  So delicious!
Lineage Sherbet

Chocolate
The Lineage Sherbet was a toasted rice tea flavor, topped with puffed rice and sea salt.  I'm not a big tea fan, so I didn't really care for the dessert.  I loved the Chocolate dessert, however.  It had a pretzel crust that made for a perfect sweet and salty combo!

Service was excellent, and I'm glad we got to try out a variety of dishes.
