Polynesian Cultural Center Voted #1 by Hawaii Magazine

The Polynesian Cultural Center, a non-profit organization that protects and preserves Polynesian culture to share with visitors from around the world, has been voted #1 for Best Live Show by Hawaii Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards. Its HA: Breath of Life show was awarded top spot for Best Live Show.

The award winning show, HA: Breath of Life, follows the life of Mana as he learns important skills and lessons passed through generations. The story continues as Mana falls in love and has his own family, further passing along the traditions and important lessons to his own children. The story is told through Polynesian dance, music and a blazing fireknife showcase, which features over 100 native Polynesian performers. It is a Pacific isle saga of birth and death, love and family, tragedy and triumph.

“We are honored to be voted the best live show in Hawaii and proud to be able to share the Polynesian culture to residents and visitors alike,” said Alfred Grace, president and CEO of the Polynesian Cultural Center. “Our HA: Breath of Life show is one of the many performances that we know will continue to both entertain and teach our guests the history and traditions of Polynesia.”

The Polynesian Cultural Center features six island villages in a beautifully landscaped setting representing actual villages in the island of Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, Fiji, and Aotearoa (New Zealand). The Center is also renowned for recreating authentic cultural experiences including the fireknife dancing, hula dancing, spear throwing and traditional slap dance. Cultural performances, including its award winning evening show HA: Breath of Life run daily, Monday – Saturday.
