Red Barn Farmstand Celebrates First Anniversary with Half-Price Farmers & Friends Friday Meal Deal

The Red Barn Farmstand celebrates one year of serving the North Shore community with fresh local produce and prepared food this September. “It’s hard to believe that one year has already gone by,” says Jamie Sexton, owner of the Red Barn Farmstand. “It has been a fast roller coaster, and we are excited about this milestone and so grateful for all the support from the North Shore community and farmers and food lovers across the state, and even mainland and international visitors! We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of what we hope to accomplish, and we look forward to offering more community events to bring people together to celebrate our local farmers and makers.”

For the Barn’s September Farmers & Friends Friday on September 22, the meal offering will include a “stew bowl” option, fresh green salad and birthday cake for half-off the regular price. The $12.50 deal will give guests a choice of Portuguese Bean Soup with Rice, made with local Pono Pork sausage, OR Vegetarian Lemongrass Curry with Rice; Organic Mixed Pūpūkea Greens Salad with Red Barn Signature Lemon-Herb Dressing; and Birthday Cake (chocolate with chocolate frosting or vanilla with vanilla buttercream frosting). Pre-paid purchases with reserved seating may be made in advance at www.redbarnfarmstand.com. Food service begins at 11 a.m. On Farmers & Friends Fridays, the Barn is open for extended hours, with pau hana live music from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring the North Shore Ramblers playing bluegrass music. BYOB welcome.

The anniversary weekend festivities will continue Saturday, September 27, with Uncle Wayne and the Howling Dog Band returning for Red Barn’s Sunset Saturday with their Family Pau Hana, presented by The Family Hui. The Barn will be open for extended hours, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Families can enjoy a menu of $10 stew, chili or curry and rice bowls and the popular Red Barn hummus dip and veggie platters, in addition to other farm-fresh food. (BYOB permitted.) Keiki can be free to dance, sing and get loud with Uncle Wayne and the Band.

The Red Barn Farmstand, operated in partnership with Twin Bridge Farms, is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 66-320 Kamehameha Highway, Hale‘iwa, at the intersection of Kamehameha Highway and the unpaved Cane Haul Road. Call (808) 753-4350 or email aloha@redbarnfarmstand.com for more information.
