AGU a Ramen Bistro Kids Menus

AGU A Ramen Bistro recently launched a kids menu to nurture a whole new generation of ramen lovers. The special menu is comprised of a choice among one of four ramen selections, soboro donburi, or chicken karaage donburi, that is accompanied by three pieces of gyoza, French fries, corn, and an Oreo® cookie, all for just $8.95.

The kids menus allow children are able to select among four ramen options—either shoyu or salt-flavored broths, with a mother soup base of tori (chicken) or tonkotsu (pork). A slice of char siu and half a seasoned soft-boiled egg garnish the half-portioned ramen, making this a perfect meal for smaller appetites. Alternative options to ramen include a soboro donburi (ground chicken sautéed in a sweet shoyu ginger sauce over rice) and a karaage donburi (deep-fried chicken on a bed of furikake rice). In addition, three pork-filled dumplings, a small portion of corn, and French fries add variety to the meal. For dessert, an Oreo® cookie is included to satisfy the sweet tooth. Furthermore, to keep children occupied as the meal arrives, crayons are given with the paper menu, which comes complete with coloring activities and a word search puzzle.

“We wanted to show kids that ramen can be a fun yet nourishing meal,” says Hisashi “Teddy” Uehara, Owner and Executive Chef. “Since our restaurants are family-friendly, we also thought that we should make experience just as enjoyable for the kids as it is for their noodle-loving parents.”
