New Farm-Fresh Food Event Series Cropping Up at Hale‘iwa’s Red Barn Farmstand

The Red Barn Farmstand announces the debut of a new monthly event series highlighting Hawai‘i’s farmers and makers of artisanal products. On Farmers & Friends Fridays, the Barn will offer a special lunch menu showcasing a featured farmer or product vendor. Guests are invited to talk-story with the farmers and makers in the Barn to learn how they farm or how they craft their products, the best ways to use them, recipes and more. The set lunch is offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes a starter, main dish, dessert and drink for $25. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.redbarnfarmstand.com or at the Barn on event day. Through the end of summer, Farmers & Friends Fridays will include an afternoon barbecue, beginning at 1 p.m., and pau hana live music from 4 to 6 p.m.

The first Farmers & Friends Friday will take place on Friday, April 28, 2017, and feature Nozawa Farms and its sweet, non-GMO Kahuku corn, and Kai Cowell of Ka‘iulani Spices.
